Its centrally located and very easy to access as it has its own subway. There are a lot of shops but mostly on the expensive side.We did manage to buy some souvenirs and amber jewellery. Beautiful building and a good place for tourists.

I think it's the oldest department in store in Russia. Got some souvenirs and two sturdy good quality umbrellas for a great price. Also has a few icon shops as well with a good selection and range of prices. Bascially handy for everything you might need.

Gostiny Dvor is a shopping center locayed in Nevski Prospekt, one of the main Avenues in St. Petersburg, the main city in the Northwest of Russian Federation. Here you can buy a lot of things like souvenirs, jewelry, food or some others. Also, the building is very beautiful and there are a lot of shops. A very good place for tourists.

Easy to reach as the departmment store is at Nevskiy Prospekt and the same block has its own subway station (named alike Gostiny Dvor).

Sells mainly junk and unfashionable clothes. Very tiring atmosphere. Currency exchange booth at the street level.

Definitely not what we were expecting. The descriptions we kept reading during our research on the city, we read a great deal about Gostinyy Dvor. The mental picture we had was that of the typical large shopping mall. Instead, what we found was a grouping of individual stores, lots and lots of stores (!) under the same roof and spread around only the perimeter of the building. This isn’t a bad thing at all, but just something different from that which we expected.

Even non-shopaholics should visit this enormous department store. Gostiny Dvor reflects the wealth of imperial Saint Petersburg. A landmark at renowned Nevsky Prospekt, it is an elegant mall with upscale shops. The view from second floor is nice.

Ok, let me be honest, the shopping here and the merchandise provided isn't perhaps the most exciting but the building itself is really beautiful. Gostiny Dvor is the oldest shopping mall in St. Petersburg with a very different layout. The stores are like stalls in line one after the other. This makes the whole facade streching 1km in total. It shows a lot of its heritage since the building is covered in old porticoes.

One of the oldest "malls" in the world.
And it shows 😉
The location is right on Nevsky Prospekt close to the Metro station of the same name.
The whole atmosphere is that of past decades, with elderly shop assistants standing there, waiting patiently for customers. It is a breath of fresh air after our noisy contemporary malls!
We went upstairs as we wanted to buy fur hats: There are several fur shops one after the other! The choice is great, the quality excellent and the prices reasonable!
Highly recommended!
