Understand the queues here are 3+ hours in summer - not so in winter. Excellent collections of art and artifacts in a very stately and awesome building. MUST SEE while in St. Petersburg

The Hermitage has free entry on the first Thursday of the month. You can get skip the lines but you won’t need this if you’re visiting in Winter

Hi! Don't know about the guided tour at the entrance as we had booked through a local travel agent to procure the visa as well. The audio guide is pretty helpful though the museum is too big to be covered in a day & a guide... More
