I went to St Petersburg on a 72 hour visit without a visa with St Peterline. The submarine is a short walk north from the dock and hotel where the ferry arrived. The museum charges 350 rubles admission and 100 rubles to take pictures. I cannot profess to be a fan of museums that charge a fee for taking pictures... More

The staff is very kind but they speak only russian and all information is in russian. Without your own guide, it's more difficult. At the end of visit, you can see a small exhibition about the tragedy of kursk. If you use subway, it's about a quarter by foot from the station.

This was a fascinating museum. We were able to use our guide to translate the submarine commander's information about the sub. Understanding how these men lived during the times these subs were used was really interesting.
