About
Loft Project ETAGI is a multifunctional art space in the center of Saint Petersburg. The total exhibition area is 3,000 square meters and is the only place in the city where contemporary art is being exhibited at such a large scale. It is not only an exhibition area, but also a cultural center that occupies a five-story building that was once an artisanal bakery, “Smolninkij khlebozavod”. Many of the interior elements of the old factory were preserved, such as the concrete pillars, a drilling machine and bread baking equipment. These elements have been enhanced with modern design additions, adding an element of history to the area. The original floor of the factory consisted of cast iron blocks, and has now been refurbished with bright red joints and glass windows. Antique furniture, luxurious trimmings and various other details complement the original features. Today, Loft Project ETAGI consists of 2 contemporary art galleries (Formula Gallery, Fotowall SVETOSILA), five exhibition areas (Grey Corridor, White Corridor, Fifth Floor Space, Katushki, and the reception are of Location Hostel on the 3rd floor), the Green Room Café, Location Hostel, Sever Bar, and “Bibilioteka Proektor” bookstore.

Interesting place to go and explore. 👏 More of a hipster area with street art. You can make photos of yourself in an old-school photo booth. 😉 There are nice variety of food places and very unique shops on the narrow street. Some restaurants also have an outside area you can relax. Love the architecture of the shops - square shape and placed so that the tip would be made from glass and you can see inside. There is also a Chinese shop there for Chinese medicine, herbs and other things. All shops there sell designed things and little out of the box versions of things. Very enjoyable to see where St Petersburg culture is and fashion is heading.

This is a very interesting museum/hostel/cafe/restaurant close to the shopping mall Galleria. The building consists of five floors, with different exhibitions on each. This is really worth a visit! The cafe (outside terrace) during the summer is an excellent place to drink cheap Russian "champagne" (ca 10 USD/bottle) and enjoy great and inexpensive snacks. While you're in the neighborhood, visit the Art Centre Pushkinskaya 10. A very interesting and fun place if you are interested in art! One of Russia's best known cultural centers.

We've spent 5 days in St.Petersburg abd the goal was not only to visit the must-sees but also local attraction, to get the feeling of the urban life style of Piter. Etazhi (Russian name of this place) sums up in 1 place how we feel about the city. It is an old factory or some warehouse of some kind that has been taken over by a hipster crown and turned into 6 store "space for all": tiny independent stores that sell artists produce (and here you can fins some pretty weird stuff), food stalls, cafes, huge art space and the outside area on the roof with amazing view of the city 360'. The restaurant on 4th (?) floor offers very yummy and surprisingly cheap food and drinks. They have board games for when you need a longer break from exploring the city. We stayed there for hours and it was super cool!

It's quite expensive. The exibitions are not very intersting sometimes. The building is dirty and without any reconstruction.

I had been travelling with my 22 years old son. After visiting lots of famous historical places in St. Petersburg, we decided to go see something different and unusual. I read about Loft Project Floors whilst gathering a useful information for our trip to Russia-China. I might be wrong but if I remember well it's a 5 storey former bakery. Place is very informal, modern and vibrant. I felt I was in Stokes Croft in Bristol. We had a browse through the tiny crafts shops and paid roof entry charge. A day was warm and sunny. We took a walk across a roof and then landed on astro turf. After catching some sun tan we went down the Green Room cafe to have a dinner. I enjoyed eating the pancakes and my son was happy having a vegetarian option. Please note that you can pay only by cash! Interesting place and it was worth to visit.

The restaurant on the top floor had the most delicious pancakes I have tried so far in Peter. Am giving it a four because of the cigarette smoke that is blowing in from the open air terrace. Really worth a visit if you like things that are off the beaten track. You get a good feel for youth subculture and the native art scene. Prices are reasonable. Healthy offerings galore. Friendly staff. Fun boutiques.

Loved the photography exhibition and all the little shops on each floor. The pizza for 180 roubles was delicious! Worth hunting it down.

I've been there to nice sunny day. On every floor there are different exhibitions modern art, a lot of students. From roof top amazing view of city is opened. On the third floor there is cheap cafe, which is called green cafe, but it's long time waiting your order or waiter.

A cool, hidden spot of design and art in a backyard off Ligovsky Prospect - the old building structure of the disused bread factory makes a nice contrast to the hip interieur: clothes and design shops, art galleries and a lovely café with roof terrace on the top floor. Highly recommended for urban travellers! (Reminiscent of Hardbrücke in Zürich, for those who are familiar with it.) We loved it there and could have spent much more time than the 1,5 hours we had at our disposal.

The potential is there but it's all a little bit chaotic at the moment with all sorts of different things bundled together. Also, not sure what it's doing in the shopping section since the main attraction here are the art exhibitions but frankly in Saint Petersburg, there are better places for both shopping and the arts!
