We almost missed this one! The entire building is under construction and the door looks like a site entrance - see the photos. It seems closed but isn't, though you are likely to have all four floors to yourself. The curators here have a great sense of local interest and history and everything from prehistory through flora and fauna to... More

The historical museum is divided in several sections, history, nature, economy, period 1940-1944, Saami, marine, navy and so on. With 17 exposition halls it is not to big and give a nice impression about the role of Murmansk and Kola Peninsula. Let us guide you in the museum and the Kola Peninsula.

There are plenty of exhibits to do with the natural environment, flora and... More

This is a very informative museum. We had an english speaking guide - so that made it easier to go through the important exhibits. It is worth a visit to know more about the region and also about Russian history. Learned a lot about Kola, Murmansk and its importance in the WW

Worth a day trip if natural history and museums interest you..1st floor is all about minerals and maps and geological details(can be breezed through),2nd and 3rd floor dedicated to wildlife and indigenous tribes and various phases of history of the region are very interesting..only drawback is that everything is in Russian so you have no idea what you are looking...
