Disappointing

Some of the soviet era statues were immense. Giant busts of Lenin and Marx, huge sculptures of peasants, workers and soldiers. Sadly, all that’s in this park are a few small rather sad looking objects. For a much more impressive experience, visit Grutas Park in Lithuania or even better, the statue park in Budapest.

Had always dreamed of visiting this place

Somehow I thought there would be larger number of statues of Lenin, Marx and Stalin; upon seeing the Soviet Union Collapse and its citizens charging against anything that would represent the repression regime I’m seeing lots of statues being topless or deheaded I was expecting a massive sculptures cemetery.

Obviously times changed and now some of the statues have been restored to their former glory with just a few ones remaining here.

The most impressive sculptures were a group of faceless heads single contained in a huge rectangular and a small triangular cages symbolizing the deaths during the repression regimen.

Eclectic collection of art and politics
Sep 2018
This is a great walking tour through Soviet art and politics -- a good idea for what to do with fallen statues/heroes. I particularly appreciated the juxtaposition of Stalin statues with a wrenching memorial to his victims.

Just a random suppository for old unwanted statues, some recognisable, others not, no signage, and in a central location too.

First this is the wrong location - you need to search for nearby Muzeon Art Park on the river. I missed seeing the fallen monuments after the Berlin Wall fell and they were torn down and unceremoniously laid to rest. It's mainly a bronze art, and marble bust, sculpture garden - I was hoping for more Soviet era statues/signs.

Easy to access opposite Gorky Park and well worth the detour. Gives you a real glimpse into the history of Russia, especially in relation to the soviet era.

Graveyard museum of monuments of soviet era
Nov 2017 • Friends
Graveyard of fallen monuments is a museum located close to the New Tretiakov Gallery, in Moscow, the main city of Russian Federation. It is a oitdoor museum, where you can see a lot of monuments of the soviet era, which fall down when soviet era finish in nineties. Here you can see statues of Karl Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin and some other leaders of the soviet revolution and the soviet regim. A very interesting museum, where you can learn sbout the history of Russia in 20th century.

great way to remember history

Located behind the New Tretyakov Gallery, this park not only displays newer pieces of sculpture, but is used to display older Soviet statues that have since been taken down from public display. Most of the signage around the park was in both Russian and English. I really love that this park exists, so that it can be used to educate while also taking the statues of some of the Soviet leaders off the pedestal.

Well worth the visit

Unfortunately parts of the park were closed off when I visited but there were still plenty of statutes dotted around. This is a really interesting park, and some statues have brief explanations about their context, although I would have been interested to know more.
