a really interesting display of things and war and military memorabilia including loads of vehicles and aircraft outside and at 500r its a bargain to see all of that stuff but with not a single word in English you have no idea what is was for or what the story is! its a total shame as it would have been... This museum is crammed with military equipment and artifacts inside & out. There is unfortunately no information in English apart from a 1 page handout giving you the titles of the various rooms inside the museum, hence 4 stars and not 5. There are loads of original artifacts from Russian Imperial times up to modern day with what I assume... More

this museum covers the Soviet Unions military History throughout the years. There are many displays with uniforms and weapons. Outside is a brilliant collection of tanks, vehicles, jets, rockets, and boats. this has to be seen to be believed. Anyone with a passing interest in military history will enjoy this museum

A fascinating exhibition of Russian and Soviet military history. Of course, an extensive display on the 'Great Patriotic War' (as Russians refer to WW2). Best if you can take a Russian friend with you to translate, as pretty much all explanations are written in Russian.

We took two Metro trains from Red Square to the Central Armed Forces Museum on a rainy cold day. None of us could believe the amazing things they have in this one building. Unlike most museums while this place is quiet and seems far away, and maybe even like it is barely open. The military relics that are sitting there... More

Its one of the most awesome places in Moscow and I was not expecting that it is so huge and they have such large collection of weapons, news, clippings etc that I spent 4 hours at the museum. I clicked over 800 images in the museum and could have clicked more if it was open. Kindly note that museum close... More

Our guided tour took us through this huge museum selecting various highlights within our two hours there - which we found ideal. It was interesting to see how objective this seems to be too - very different to my last visit to Russian in Cold War times when propaganda distortion was rife. I felt that this was almost more objective... More

As an avid history buff whose especially interested in the WW2. This museum is absolute treasure trove with rarely seen items from Napoleonic war, World 2 including Red Flag which was hoisted over Reichstag at end of war, German banners and equipment. Great selection of Russian military hardware and remnants of the U2 spy plane that was shot down in... More
