I would describe the collection as compact views of Asian Regions in one room. The art of China, Korea, and Japan are housed either in larger rooms or multiple smaller rooms. The regions of South-Eastern Asia, Central Asia and Kazakhstan, the Caucasus, Tibet, Mongolia, India, and Iran are housed in single rooms. There are also exhibition rooms of Russian and... More

We'd planned to spend only around an hour here but ended up staying twice as long. As well as a comprehensive representation from Japan, China, Korea, Tibet & India, there is a really good collection from Iran, which I found fascinating - I have never seen such a variety of Iranian/Persian artefacts and the ceramics dating back to the 10th... We spent a lovely hour and a half here after a nice walk through the park (well its in between two roads) from Arabatskya. Fine collection of art and artefacts, we especially liked the art works and you can buy posters of them in the shop. There is an English audio guide but also enough displays and is a nice... More

A museum of Eastern culture & history. Divided into parts of Iranian, Chinese, Koraen history. Historical items found in the relevant areas are displayed within each part. Really interesting things can be found inside including paintings, traditional clothes, firearms, ritual religious items, household items etc. Around 350rubles for foreigners.

A museum dedicated to oriental art - a very different and fresh museum. Arts from all over asia including : Buddhism, Persia, Caucasus, Mongolia, Korea and many many more. The gallery of Roerich is amazing. The museum is in russian, however.

I liked the museum and what it had to offer. Non-Russian speaking tourists might have a problem with temporary exhibitions as they are only marked in Russian, the rest of the museum is marked in both English and Russian. A comprehensive scheme of the museum was missing and trying to make your way through it is a bit chaotic. Did... More

small museum in the center of Moscow with a very interesting collection of central- Asia art and artefacts. Plus temporary exhibition: now about Tylos -archeologic history of the Kingdom of Bahrain- very instructive and very well done.
