Catch the metro to Krasnopresnenskaya station. Across the road is the entrance to the zoo - you can't miss it. Large grounds, reasonable enclosures, an amazing sculpture just inside the entrance. The zoo is split into the old and new sections so be prepared for a fair bit of walking. Not the greatest zoo I've ever been to but better... More

Though it is a good place if you have children, we found it a bit boring. We covered the place in less than 30 minutes. Not that adventurous for us.

All I can say wowww. After visting london zoo i thought this would be a damp squid. I visited this place with very bad expectations . As soon as I went in we saw ducks in a pond and I laughed thinking this would be the best it had to offer. It wasn't until I walked further into the massif... More

The zoo was a really neat experience. It's a huge zoo in the center of the city, and there are lots of animals! It's totally outside, though, if it rains (like it did when we were there), it means you're either soaked or hiding out in the gift shop for a big chunk of time. Also, it wasn't especially different... More

I'm a bit torn thinking about this experience: The park itself is spacous and clean with lots of different animals, ice cream shops (too cold for ice cream when we were there) and at least one playground. The park offers different sections, but we didn't visit all of them. The children really liked the park, could run freely and loved... More

When we checked the animals in the Zoo, realized this is one of the best and cheapest place to see rare animals. We weren't disappointed. Five playful Polar bears in one larger place, Black and Brown Bears, Lions, Cheetah, Cougher and many of the deadliest rare Reptiles on site. For Rub 400.00 on week days and Rub 500.00 on weekends,... More

Visited Moscow Zoo with two boys (8 and 2 years old). They were happy to elephants, raccoons, monkeys and other animals. Unfortunately giraffe was inside it's house. In the morning the zoo in not overcrowded, a lot of facilities to have a rest.

i really enjoyed this relatively cheap day out - about £4-5 for the whole day When you walk in you think " oh god - this is awful!" but as you get deeper into it it gets quite impressive - especially the the side over the road! however it lacks a map in hand to help you around the place

There are 3 areas in the zoo: main zoo, new zoo and kids zoo. We have only visited 2 and it was more then enough for one day. Big, clean and busy place. Big variety of animals including Dolphins, Gorillas and family of orangutang. Free entrance for Children under 18.

There are a lot of animals a very good variety! Tickets are free for families with more than 3 kids if documents are provided, for all children up to 17 or 16 ( not sure) other wise an adult ticket is 400 RUB, in our case we had a group of 9 people, 2 adults and 7 kids, and we... More

Staying in Presnensky

Neighbourhood Profile
Presnensky
The neighborhood is divided into two major halves by Krasnaya Presnya street: the southern part highlights Moscow city – businesses contained in skyscrapers along with the White House - where the Russian government works. The north is a bit more relaxed and casual, visitors here will find the Moscow zoo, National Centre for Contemporary Arts and a number of fine restaurants. The beautiful neo-gothic Cathedral of the Roman Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary is usually packed with the events such as organ music concerts.
