I would not say that this is a must visit museum. I visited this museum to kill time as it was freezing outside (November) and I was alone at Red Square that day and we had done most of the programs. The entrance fee was...More

State Historical Museum is a beautiful red brick building located in one end of the Red Square. It is in the opposite end of the square to St Basil's Cathedral and is a must see.

This is one of the buildings at the entrance to Red Square. It's quite attractive with the traditional red bricks and the towers. Inside is a museum of state history which I didn't go and see. Hard to miss when you're in Red Square.

This is set right in the middle of Red Square and is quite in interesting collection of artifacts from pre-historic days up until the beginning of the 20th Century. Except for a special exhibit on Lenin's Rolls-Royce it does not have any Soviet Era exhibits....More

There are so many exhibits to see in this museum, but what really enchanted me was the design and decor of the building itself. The 35 or so interconnecting rooms are modelled after rooms in old palaces and churches; many are just absolutely beautiful. The...More
