Like the rest of Timisoara, this square too is shabby but unlike Unirii Square, it is bustling. There is more activity and happenings here.

The Victory Square (Operei Square) is one of the most beautiful squares in Timisoara. There are restaurants, shops, national theatre and the Orthodox Cathedral. Well known as The Revolution Square because in 1989 here began the fight against the comunist regim.

Victory Square is probably the first you'll come across in Timisoara, with the majority of hotels and attractions centring around this particular region. Absolutely everything you would probably want to do is within walking distance of this square. Perhaps the most iconic attraction around the square is the Orthodox Cathedral, and the walkway between the two comprises a beautiful tulip... More

Nice square, full of people with amazing buildings, although some of them need refurbishment. It is the best place in the city to feel the atmosphere, especially when the weather is sunny. Roam around the fountain and sit at the bench to rest.

In the heart of the city, nicely and carefully maintained, with a statue of a wolf with Romulus and Remus, this is one of the most popular places in Timisoara. There is a beautiful fountain on the Square as well. One cannot but admire the beauty of it.

The main central square of Timisoara. It's the symbol of the Romanian revolution. Here you can find a lot of the main attractions including Timișoara Orthodox Cathedral, Romanian National Opera House, Timisoara National Theatre and Politehnica University of Timișoara. Numerous restaurants/cafes along either side of the square. It's around a 1 mile walk away from Timisoara Nord train station!

We really enjoyed walking around this area and relaxing with the birds and all the locals. On a nice day you can see the children running around feeding the birds and the people sitting watching life go by on the benches. Lots of little places to eat and things to do around this area and the history of the revolution... More

The main square in the city or the "Revolution square" is including Opera House and the National Theatre, the Rectorate of the Politehnica University, a nice park with a small fountain, the statue of Romulus and Remus children with the wolf (copy got from Mussolini), the Ortodox cathedral. All beautiful main attractions in the city. Also, you may enjoy nice... More
