There are a lot of architecturally beautiful train stations in Romania, but only very few of them are a) clean; b) renovated; c) facility-offering; d) organized. The train station in Cluj is one of those. It's quite far from the centre and not really worth going there to visit it, since there is not too much to see, but if... More

More than 100 years old building, rather Jugend Stil, now maintained with visible efforts. The functional indications are hard to discover, and despite the electronic displays does not look friendly.

Our train was late by 1 hour, (no fault of the station). Once we got off we were not looking forward to the tunnel stairs, going under the tracks. With our 20kilo wheelie packs, (we know you pack it, you carry it). We were pleasantly surprised no stairs, just cross the tracks at the front. The station was really clean... More

It's an impressive building to see. It's a little bit unattended to and some beggars are still to be seen there but overall, it's worth seeing.

So I don't have anything bad to say about this place. It was old, kinda grimy, and filled with an aura of the old world. As you sit on the platform it's beautiful to take it in but honestly the train isn't that nice. But then again it's not about the train but the journey on which the train is... More

Cluj is a good place for a starting a journey to other places in Romania. You can travel north, west and south from this place. The station itself is a massive building but for the travellers you only need to visit the grat central hall for buying tickets or the smaller cafeteria at the end of the building

I took a train out of this station for a castle for a dance party and it was easy as pie. It was a bit older of a train and didn't have air conditioning from what I remember. It was a neat experience and the company in the cart was great. They check tickets so make sure you travel legally.

Cluj-Napoca Train Station was completed in 1870 by English firm Warring, according to plans by Karl von Gegg, who became famous at the time because he was the author of a project considered impossible: rail crossing Semmering in Austria Mountains. On one of the walls of the building appears today symbols of the square and compass. Station in Cluj-Napoca, one... More

Easy to reach via all modes of public transport and taxis. Very convenient, easy to find ticketing booths, however it lacks a decent café, but right in front of it there are cafe's and convenient stores even exchange house if one needs some money exchanged.
