Closed on weekends

It's closed on weekends so I didn't get the full experience. Nonetheless, the exterior of the building is worth a selfie. Haha!

Museo Iloilo is one of the tourist attractions of the highly urbanized city. It exhibits historical artifacts and present day artworks by Ilonggos. When I was in 1st year high school, I remembered when my classmates debated about this Mickey Mouse money used during the World War II, now I finally saw how it looks like. Several corners of the... Its 1 floor and not much to see. The fee is P50 per head but you can see all of the museum in 5-10 minutes.

This museum is located near the provincial government building. There is entrance fee. This houses several paintings of local artists, old relics, potteries and other objects which shows how the Ilonggos used to live.

Iloilo Museo its a nice place to discover the important of Ilonggo Culture, the visitors would be enjoy seeing the different kinds of arts and the heritage should be preserved for the next generations.

The museum is so small, it is. It well maintained and the arrangement of monuments is not exactly according to specific timeline Also the narratives and identification of exhibits are not all written. They do have narration for the general periods of discovering iloilo and it's historic progression as a trade city from 1250 till end of Spanish.

While the staff were very accommodating, I found the selection quite small. I expected more from this museum. When we went there, they had paintings from modern artists and the usual antiquities. It was just big room. I was quite surprised. Since I am from Negros, I expected something like the Negros Museum that had like 2-3 floors.

I am mostly interested in pre-colonial Philippines, there were very few items (to think that this is where the Pintados ruled). They filled the place with paintings and few other items here and there. Entrance is P50. You can literally look around and see almost everything from where they collect the entrance fee!

It was a interesting place to visit. There was not much info on the artifacts and the ladies working there were very little help. I tried asking questions on objects and the on lady said the poetry was from 1984...... maybe 1874 but I kind of lost interest in the ladies for information after that.

The museum has a small number of exhibits and the description they have seem lacking. I would still recommend going because if they have more visitors then maybe they would have the funds to expand and improve the museum. Heritage should always be preserved.
