I could still fantasize the gigantic statue of Gen. Douglas Mac Arthur the Us Hero to the Filipinos.
The MacArthur landing memorial national park commemorates the historic landing to liberate Philippines from the Japanese on 20 Oct. 1944. Located in Palo on Leyte island. Few vendors around selling soft drinks, water and ice cream. Worth a visit if in Tacloban. Open park. No...More
A park by the red beach where General McArthur landed to help liberate Philippines from the Japanese. The park has a few memorials about but the main one is the one with General McArthur walking through the water with his men. Plenty of grassy areas...More
Nice place to stroll after taking photos. Walking distance from the Oriental hotel at Palo , Leyte. You could also buy fresh buko juice at nearby kiosks after taking a walk.

It's just a memorial site. You will only see statues and some signage. Nothing to really see. But if you want to visit historical site, this is worth it. There are a lot of people that take pictures there so you have to take turns....More
Its the ever famous Mcarthur Park on leyte where most travellers especially samarnons or warays take a glimpse for visit.
This is one of Leyte's major tourist attraction. The double life sized statues of Gen. McArthur and others are just amazing. Gen. McArthur's promise "I shall return" is well known in Leyte. This place is also perfect for walking and jogging because of it's wide...More
It was 7 years since I went back to my home region, Region 8, from Manila. I have been in this place countless times when I was a kid with my mother and father bringing me here.
