341 years old house. Grandsons do come and stay in it in the weekend. Great experience, nice ambience and history talk. Old chairs, sofas, beds, kitchen utensils and old pictures and paintings. Wonderful garden with wishing pool. A must visit.

The admission fee being only 50 Pesos, the Yap Sandiego house provides an interesting glimpse into the historical relics of a family that has lived here for 8 generations. It's a bit odd that you can touch almost everything in the home. Its positioning in Cebu lends itself well to seeing the Magellan monument nearby.

Nice place to visit with the guide showing You around and taking good photos for You. Takes about 30 minutes to see. The house is completely made out of wood. No aircon inside but its pleasantly cool. Close by is the Cebu Catholic house with alot of Cathlolic Icons. Also the Cebu Museum with lots of old artifacts and a... More

Not worth paying P50 per head, the guide gave only little information about the place for about 3-5 mins then gave us time for picture taking. I suggest going to Jesuit place across the street instead

Really enjoyed going round the house with all its nook and cranniesWe combined the ancestral house with the Heritage Monument and the Jesuit house -all very close. The Casa Gorada, also nearby, is closed at the moment for refurb. A short walk to the docks enables you to take a 15 mins ferry to Maktan Island for a few pesos... More

It's a house for halloween if toured without the best guide. We got lucky and were led by a chatty-enough, expert photographer-guide. He made the house interesting for all of us and took pictures that showed the househ better than real life (great understanding on lighting and composition).

Centennial house. How stronger can it be? 2 major earthquakes shook hardly Cebu city on 2013. A must see! Maybe we can apply this design for future buildings? 😊

The Ancestral House is a stone’s throw away from the Heritage of Cebu Monument and a couple of blocks away from the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral. The house was built in the 17th century by Chinese merchants and is reported to be the oldest surviving residence in the Philippines. The house has now been converted into a museum to showcase the... The house itself is very old. You can learned about how the people back then live and the things they used. Its amazing how the owner of the house have reserved its ancestral furniture/s. You can walk from this house to Cebu Heritage Monuments and vice versa. The house itself is very picturesque. There's an entrance fee of P50/head for... More
