Walk among the founding fathers of Auburn and Cayuga County. This beautiful cemetery has amazing headstones and above ground vaults.

I love this cemetery all year round. Studies have shown that it’s not necessarily how much exercise you get, but the venue. Being among nature is therapeutic. Fort Hill is a real gem. I wish there were some fitness initiative for those coworkers who don’t...More

I always enjoy visiting cemeteries and the graves of famous people. Several former famous residents of Auburn are buried here Harriet Tubman and William Seward. We had no problems finding Tubman's grave but a little trouble finding where the Seward's were buried. It was also...More

Very interesting tour through graves of many of the historical Auburn forefathers. Seward, Hardenberg and and Chief Logan among them. However, you had better be in decent shape as the place is VERY hilly.

There is a map near the entrance that shows the sections where the famous people are buried, however finding the sections can be a bit difficult. Perhaps some additional signage would help to find the graves.

So much history is buried here, and it comes alive if you can get a docent to show you around. Very hilly so be prepared for that bit of exercise. Definitely a cool alternative to learn about both local and some national history!

Most famously are the graves of Secretary Seward and Ms. Tubman. There are almost too many monuments covering the graves to count.

As for a cemetery this was interesting. Our intention was to pay respect to one of americas amazing ladies. Didn't realize the history of William Seward had in this area as well.

Look up graving with Jenny. Great site to understand different reasons for coins on graves.
