The enormity and beauty of this lake takes your breath away. The Uros islands, the people, the birds make this place enchanting. Sadly pollution of the lake and the air (from ferries) is an issue.

The highest lake in the world, covering a vast area, we spent 4 wonderful days on and around Titicaca and thoroughly enjoyed all our experiences. It's believed to embody an eternal, crystal city: It certainly seemed very magical to us.

Our group tour was all inclusive in our booking so I don't know what the actual cost was. Sorry I can't help. What ever you do it is well worth it.

If you will be adjusting to altitude at Titicaca from CA elevation, you will need to expect to have more than 24 hours to do so. Most people are looking at 2-3 days before feeling anything like "normal". If you have already... More

I read the same article and was surprised. The tour guides explained how so many of the people living on the lake depend on it for their daily livelihoods and food. We went on to the floating islands where whole families... More
