Great for daytrip
Dec 2019
Contadora Island for a day trip is great! We took the ferry and once we arrived, we walked and explored the island. There are many beautiful beaches. We enjoyed the beaches and the water. Bring your snorkel gear and see all kinds of fish and coral! We stopped at a small store (supermarket) and got a drink which was priced very reasonably. There appeared to be nice accommodations if you choose to stay for a night or two. We explored an abandoned resort and beached ferry boat. All in all, it was a great daytrip!

Nice beach

This is yet another nice beach on the island. Clear blue water and soft sand. None of the beaches are busy on Contadora but weekend is busier with locals heading down with family.

Playa Larga

Playa Larga was a wonderful sightseeing trip on our golf cart. The ruins of once was a magnificent hotel/restaurant. The playa is gorgeous! We did not swim or snorkel because it was the end of our day. We do recommend going there.

Beautiful and quiet island.

We had a great time: clear blue water, empty beaches, nice roads to walk. Staying at Gerald's is highly recommended.

Turquoise waters and white sands
Dec 2018 • Couples
An interesting and beautiful beach. The abandoned resort is weird and quite fascinating. To see the abandoned rooms with plants growing round them. The colourful painted walls of what was the bar area.
There's also the ship left stranded on the beach which is heavily covered in graffiti.
The beach is fine white sand and the waters warm and waves calm. Palm trees and best of all there was no one but us on it.
Others have mentioned rubbish on the beach but we didn't notice this at all.

Amazing beach and water
Dec 2018 • Couples
The bit up ship abandoned on the the beach and the ruins of a once hotel casino right behind the beach are the only set back to an otherwise absolutely amazing beach with calm and pristine waters . This is a “crowded” Saturday afternoon !! Priceless ! Our favorite on Contadora Island !

Warm aqua turquoise water

We walked 50 metres and visited Playa Larga four times to snorkel and walk. For best visibility, we snorkelled at high tide from the southeast end around the headland to the bay of Playa Sueca (no visibility) with a myfloat floatation device and we are both strong swimmers. The fish were at Playa Larga but the turquoise rocks at Sueca are beautiful. It was an adventure. A few people were on each beach. One day on Larga, we watched 16 men unload the 2 freight barges all by hand to waiting small trucks. We also gathered all white styrofoam into a garbage bag which we brought and left it at the airport gate.

Creepy

Concur with some of the other reviews- between the abandoned ferry and the equally abandoned hotel, this beach is just creepy.

Too much trash, jelly fishes, and graffiti
Jul 2018 • Family
Both times we have gone, 4 years apart, we have been bitten by miniature small sea creatures or jelly fish much more than at any of the other Contadora beaches. Also, the bombed out and abandoned hotel should be razed so that it is not such an eye sore and safety hazard. Lots of profane graffiti on the hotel and the beached ferry. Not a relaxing beach.

Wild beach, a corpse of russian ferry and abandoned villas

Nothing to do just enjoy the sun, the sand, the sea and the wild nature with deers and birds. No tourists, no umbrellas, just peace...
