Jason was a fantastic guide for our visit to the Boquete area. He was extremely accommodating in presenting options for our birding adventures, restaurants and other places of interest in and around Boquete. In addition, he picked us up and dropped us off at the airport, coordinating our plans so that we could take advantage of other amazing stops along the way. He is perhaps the best birding guide we've had the pleasure of engaging, always on the lookout for particular birds that were of interest to us. His enthusiasm for finding, viewing, and identifying birds was amazing. He also is very personable with a wonderful sense of humor. We highly recommend him for your next birding adventure!

We had a great half day tour with Jason. It was fun and we got to see many different birds and get to know everything about them. Jason is extremely passionate and we can absolutely recommend this tour if you like birds and nature.

We booked a birding tour with Jason on our recent trip to Boquete. He picked us up in town and brought to our attention various points of interest along the way to the Pipeline Trail. Jason is very knowledgeable and was able to listen for and spot various birds along our hike. He even found a Resplendent Quetzal in its nest. Although we only spotted the tail, it was still a thrill. We also saw and heard a troupe of howler monkeys. After the hike, Jason treated us to coffee and a snack at a local farm. It was a joy visiting with him before heading back to town. We would absolutely recommend Jason Lara Tours.

The views of Panama were unmatched. Jason was the best tour guide ever. He specializes in birdwatching. We went on some crazy hikes to waterfalls which is exactly what I was looking for and he took us to all the local spots to eat. An overall great human being and fun company! Highly recommend!

Wow! What a fabulous day my friend and I spent with Jason. We asked for a private full day sightseeing tour in and around Boquete, and were not disappointed. We contacted Jason just a couple of weeks before our trip, after canceling another tour, and were lucky that he had a free day. When I told the owner of the inn where we were staying, he told us that we were lucky to be able to book a trip with Jason, and he was right. Jason is so friendly and knowledgeable about the area, and knows all the beautiful picture-worthy spots. He likes to give you a lot of history about the different areas, which makes it really interesting and enjoyable. Taking a private tour was the way to go, as we were able to spend as much time as we liked photographing and just walking around the different areas we visited. I highly recommend taking a tour with Jason, He is a wonderful tour guide!

Jason Lara is a dedicated, thoroughly knowledgeable birding guide. My husband and I were with him for6 days in March 2024 - each day was different and was a memorable experience. He is passionate about what he does and is able to adapt how he conducts his guiding to the needs, abilities, and wishes of his clients. He gave us one of the most exceptional birding experiences I have ever known. For the quality of experience he offers, his fees are very reasonable.

Touring with Jason was an amazing experience and easily a highlight of our Panama trip! Jason is a knowledgeable, professional, fun and funny guide who really knows his birds and Boquete! With his expert spotting and listening, we got 62 species with just a one day tour dedicated to birding. He is also impressively quick with the scope, and very helpful with digiscoping when our cameras weren't enough. We highly recommend him, and hope to come back to tour with him again and find a Quetzal (we weren't there the right time of year for them)!

Exceptional bird guiding from a really knowledgeable specialist guide, who is also great company. Sadly we only had one day but we’ll certainly make a plan for our next trip later this year and explore several more of the areas that Jason guides in, across western Panama. He is very good on ID and calls, and is also the quickest we’ve ever had at getting on birds with a scope. He is a very good guide by global standards (and we’ve been out with many across africa, Europe and Central America).

Two day private tour of the Boquete area was a fantastic investment. Jason is a charming and personable tour guide who seems to know every area and most of the residents. While my tour was focused on a possible relocation to this stunning region - and we got plenty of that - Jason also took the time to show us great recreation opportunities as well as wonderful places to eat.
—Bonus: he took us to a high breakfast location with by far the most beautiful vista from a restaurant I’ve seen in my life, and I’m 65 years old! I will NEVER forget that breakfast.
Best investment you could make to get to know this wonderful area. Highly recommended.

We have been so fortunate to be able to book multiple birdwatching tours with Jason over the past month. His professional manner, bird knowledge and friendly demeanour made every outing a success! My husband and I have seen many life birds in varied habitats. He tailored each outing to birds we would like to see and was able to use his extraordinary listening skills to help us find the birds. He also was able to digiscope the birds on our phones so that we had awesome pictures of the birds we saw! Highly recommended!!

A half day tour we started really early, and were out well after midday, although weather was not good. Jason came with his car. This was the tour to search for quetzals.
The second tour was even longer; we did the Pipeline trail and the tea plantation and were back really late. More like a full day although we have discussed 1/2 day.
Jason is one of the best guides we have had, excellent English, and such a nice and warm person. Highly recommended! As for the costs, just ask him directly, prices might change!!
