Fun Friday Frolics!

This is a fun place to come on a Friday night and experience a mix of Panamanian/gringo nightlife. Having said this, I'm a bit confused with whether it's trying to be a club or a bar. The music is so loud it's hard to talk but there's barely any room between the tables and the bar to be able to... More

The interior decor of this dimly lit place is kind of "African Safari" and a little bit bohemian. The seating arrangements follow along the same line, but are uncomfortable for lounging. There's no food to be had, and several of the items on the drink menu were "unavailable". We ordered a "Che Guevara" and a martini (can't remember the name).... More

I want to like this place... in fact, I REALLY want to like this place. It has a funky vibe and decor that set the stage for a trendy spot in Boquete to have a few drinks and relax. Rumor has it they even have live music on certain nights! We went a bit early so the place was pretty... More

The drinks are cheap but taste expensive. The music is local but sounds international. The crowd is laid back but exiting. All in all, this place is a great way to see how Boquete kicks back and enjoy themselves!

Whilst Boquete isn't the biggest of party towns you will always discover some fun at Zanzibar. The owners have managed to create an amazing atmosphere by combining great music, good drinks and vibrant decorations. The Saturday night live music is some of the best in town and you are guaranteed to meet someone interesting! From one happy traveller to the... More

My friend's and I happened upon this place a year ago while travelling through Boquete. The decor and atmosphere were great, and the music was amazing- for my taste. I was pleasantly surprised to find a place like this in Boquete, and have since returned to Boquete twice and always had a wonderful time.

I must admit I am shocked by this person's review, and considering he also received free drinks? I frequented Zanzibar a few times during my stay in Boquete, and each time was a fantastic experience, I did not notice an overpowering odor, and if there was one, exactly what do you suppose the bar can do, call the public sewage... I have been in Boquete for a few months now, and I am still not bored of this place. Great atmosphere, great music, friendly staff (not the fastest but that is part of the culture) and great parties on Wednesdays when they have belly-dance shows, or on Thursdays with their special themes, and live music on Saturdays. Sometimes the place... More

On the strength of the reviews posted here, and armed with free drink coupons handed out by a representative from the local English language school, we paid a visit to Zanzibar on our way back into the thick of Boquete from the Panamonte restaurant. The decor is excellent, and the lighting subdued; the music was bass-heavy and pleasant, and there... More

Your choices for nightlife in Boquete are limited, but unless there is a local festival going on, this is the place to go. Perfect place to share your day's worth of experiences with other travelers or local expats. Also, keep your eye out for crazy Uncle Rico, although he may never stop talking if you get him going.
