Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Raja Bazaar is a great way to see the "real city". It is full of the hustle and bustle of a real market and there are many different areas to see. You'll find everything from gold through electricals to clothes, pots and pans! Just head off down one of the side ways and enjoy.

I am resident of Rawalpindi, having been serving in KSA for 25 years, I could not pay a visit to the amazing Raja Bazar Area of Rawalpindi.
Now I am retired and returned back home, on December 15, 2022, after 30 years ,went to Main Raja Bazar a unique commercial hub, Bazar Dalgaran( the lintel bazar), Purana Qilla ( the old fort ) Urdu Bazar.
All these areas have changed a lot and old buildings of the Indo Pakistan Partition have either been demolished and or in in a very poor and miserable condition.
The hustle and bustle inn the areas mentioned was worth viewing. It was a short visit so I took some pictures with my mobile which I am attaching. Hope people like them.
I will upload more pictures captured with my actual camera in a couple of days as I program to visit again other adjoining bazars of this specific Bazar.

Oldest market in the area. Business hub for the region. Parking and driving is an issue. Variety of markets around. Best touring recommended on foot.

Raja Bazaar is one of the main markets of Rawalpindi. Retailers purchase products from here to sell them at their shops on profit. You can find almost everything here - from clothing to shoes and from electric supplies to decor items.
8/10
Excellent in terms of affordability.
8/10
P.S. It is highly overcrowded. Bad idea if you are planning to take a bigger wheel, SUV or even a sedan. Take a cab or go on a bike!
1/10
Not good for young kids and women - the crowd is a little cheap there.

It is right to say that this area is the centre of pindi city. The area is always crowded, full of people and roads confused due to huge number of visitors daily. But in this area there are different areas reserved for clothes, some for shoes, some for electronics, some for crockery etc. So practically one can find almost anything used in daily life here and with cheap prices. So in order to visit this area, either one should be walking on foot or by local transport Rickshaw (Tok Tok). For new person specially it is not advisable at all to drive on his own, even for the people living in pindi they dont prefer to go by their own car.
As the area is old and too many streets, so for visitor it's better to be accompanied by local who knows the area, otherwise for new person it's easy to get lost.

Raja bazar is no doubt an oldest place in Rawalpindi where you have everything at one place at a very reasonable price. Almost every citizen of Rawalpindi/Islamabad visits the place to find the right items for their families belonging to every day use in life. It is situated close to Famous Muree Road and China Market.

السلام عليكم
None of the markets and shops are opened properly during lock-down, including Raja Bazar.
Some shop keepers are opening the shops but with front shutters down. If you go there, there is a chance that you might find some shops opened. But for that you have to ask the persons standing outside the shops and they might let you enter.
Today mean friday will b open

Rawalpindi, Pakistan72 contributions
As Raja Bazar is commercial hub for Whole Sale and retail market daily consumable , shops are closed on FRIDAYS and some closes on Sunday as well. Normally the business time starts 10.00 AM morning and the market closes round about 10.30 PM.
Hope it helps.
