Beautiful location, its a must see and a great drive, you will need a four wheel drive vehicle to enter onto the mountain range, the roads are good and paved all the way, just steep, with a lot of bends and twists. Breath taking scenery, cool breezes even in the hottest of summer months, maximum temperatures 30 degrees.

The Omani hinterland is barren and dramatic. It is amazing that people live here in this desert. Over generations they built systems of aqueducts to supply water. Just watch out for the crazy driving on the roads.

Must have 4WD for journey into these spectacular mountains. We had driver but if you are experienced you could drive yourself. Steep, narrow, winding tracks with amazing views. Terraced farming. Roses in right season as grown for rosewater.Weather was great and just an amazing experience

A great area in which to strike out and explore either walking or driving. Unspoilt dramatic countryside consisting of incredibly limestone formations, gorges and deep wadis.

Potentially it's a beautiful place; unfortunately nothing is in place to make it. There are no proper maps, paths are poorly indicated, the place is generally dirty.

We've visited Jebel Akhdar several times, in various seasons of the year. We've been there as a family, as a couple, and in a group of friends. We've never been disappointed. For anyone who loves the outdoors, enjoys hiking, and is healthy enough to withstand moderate exertion, this is a part of Oman not to be missed!

Quite a steep drive up...impressive road building! Great views over the stark mountains and valleys. Great temperatures up top. Some interesting hikes of various lengths.

You need an all wheel drive ! Does not mean that it`s difficult to drive up there - everything is paved ! On top you find a plateau and some opportunities for hiking. Other than that there is not too much to see, apart from some "old villages" which we did not visit... You can also take lunch in one... More
