This grande dame of colonial charm proudly graces the skyline of Swakopmund .The lovely baroque style elegant Lutheran church dates back to 1911 and is not overly adorned, but simple and powerful in its simplicity and beauty.. The recently restored stained glass windows and beautiful church bells heard all over Swakopmund will make a lasting impression. It's very special to... More

Popped in to this lovely church which is a very elegant building dating to around 1911. Inside is light and elegant and not over adorned like some in Italy etc. Chatted briefly to older man and his daughter who were mind in the building - they were friendly and informative.

A site well worth to visit by architecture lovers. It rumoured to be the second oldest building in Swakopmund. Made some aerial photos during late afternoon, flying around the church, when colours are just beautiful.

A beautiful old church in a fine architectural style in keeping with the rest of the town, and a fine example of elegant design. Well worth the visit.

Historic church, the coloured windows in front are wonderful. You can experience the German architecture of this church. You can sign a visitors book at the front entrance.

An elegant church, with central European style 'onion' dome, which you would not expect to see in the Namibian desert. A cool creamy yellow interior, with beautiful stained glass windows. Incidentally, the picture on this page is not that of the church.

Beautiful stone church heavily embedded in the German and Afrikaan history as relates to the European occupation of Namibia. The Church spokesperson glossed over the genocide policies of Germany in the early 1900's when local tribes were killed or pushed out into the Kalahari to die.

I had the luck to enjoy the hospitality from the pastor to stay at the flat of the church. The church ha beautiful windows sponsered by the Hansetown Bremen. The devotion is short serviceand typically lutheran. The people are warm harted and be welcomed nicely
