Very nice Medina, with lots of stores and hidden jewels. Fresh food comes from the harbor everyday. Famous by the Portuguese, Mogador is a very nice Medina in Morocco.

Fantastic place very bohemian. .friendly hakim staff great visit. I would definately recommend this place as relaxing beauty spot. Lots to do and see.

The medina of Essaouira is manageable and has a lot of nice stores and art everywhere. People are friendly and do not hassle you. A lot of life in the medina with kids playing everywhere and a great sense of family amongst the commercial places....More

Visited early evening at twilight. Constantly approached so didnt stay long and found a restaurant to eat at outside. Dingy with mainly tourist type shops. Lots of head scarves ,wood, beedy silver jewellry. Go on a guided tour. You wont feel comfortable on your own...More

Did enjoy our stroll in the medina. Less aggressive than Marrakech and some parts of the medina has prices marked on but still you can haggle for discounts... Less motorbikes going in and out of small alleys...

It's about 2 hours from Marrakesh, costs about 1000 Dhs for private car. Ours was easily arranged by our Dar (small hotel).
