We embarked on the blue trail on our final morning in Santubong having read up on the intensity of the red trail. It took around 2 hours and we really enjoyed the challenge of the climbs and negotiating the many streams you must cross. Don't...More

We had planned to climb Mount Santubong on our last trip to Sarawak in 2015, but for a number of reasons that didn’t eventuate so when I heard we’d be staying at the Permai Rainforest Resort again this year, climbing Santubong became a priority. After...More

Slightly apprehensive, given previous reviews, we set out just after 9am. Route was very quiet, I think only two other groups did the walk to the summit our day. First half is through typical rainforest, couple of sections look like the path has disappeared -...More

We tackled mount santubong summit. The trail is HARD work and not for those looking for an easy hike, but totally rewarding once completed! Be prepared to use your upper body strength to pull yourself up the steep inclines for the last 1 to 2...More

Myself and friend set out nice and early to tackle the full day trek to the summit (there is the option of the shorter trail to the waterfall for those who aren't keen on slogging it out all day) We began walking at 8am, reached...More

Very beautiful. At the start you can choose between the red and blue trail. We chose the red one which goes all the way to the top. The blue trail will lead you to one of the waterfalls. If you are planning on doing the...More

We walked from the start to the second waterfall (part of the red route) and back on a part of the blue route (the first waterfall where you can cool down). This took about 3,5 hours. It was a great walk!! But I thought it...More

We did this climb with our children (8, 10 and 12). The children are used to walk and to climb. The treck is not adviced for beginners, as its quite long (day trip) and it can be exposed. The second part of the climb is...More

We enjoyed the waterfall. The walk up to the waterfall was gorgeous and fun clambering about. The kids (6,3 and 10 month) enjoyed a lot. It was shady and warm and we enjoyed the sounds of the jungle and saw enormous ants, lizards, terrapin and...More

Climbed Mt Santubong a few times. It is very challenging as the path is not properly maintained and often you have to rely on collapsing rope ladders. Which proved to be a tough challenge as I was wearing slippers. I love the challenge though, so...More

Hi my fren, I had twice experience climbing Mount Santubong. Bukit Lambir is not so difficult as compared to Mount Santubong. I lost my way at Mount Santubong during my first climb due to wrong compass reading.
