Cleaner water, less tourist.

We did some snorkelling here and it was better than the manukan island. Less people and more clean and deep water. Corals here were not dead compared to Manukan.

The island looks beautiful but not as beautiful as manukan and sapi are. It is a very small island with many tourists in it. Snorkelling activity was okay here..

The Islands of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Nat. Park are treasures that are not clean and cared for. I was there 15 years ago and the coral was beautiful, clean and colourful. This time the water was murky, very little coral, a few fish were seen, even a few Nemos! But the water was so murky with plastic packaging, cans... More

It was a nice island....they are not as beautiful as you are led to believe from the pictures....but still very nice experience. Quite a lot of fish over the coral area. A few restaurants and places to camp. Showers.Toilets dreadful. worth a visit...away from Kota Kinabalu

The smallest of the 5 Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park. It is not heavily promoted thus lesser crowd. It is also as developed as Manukan or Sapi thus bring your own food and drinks.

Very easy to get there and huge amounts of fish to see very close to the coast line, I just wish it was a little quieter

After a day of snorkeling with a thousand Chinese and Korean tourists at Sapi Island and Manukan we decided to look into a less crowded island. Mamutik is much smaller than the others and had a lot less people. A pretty nice reef to see lots of fish and coral. It is really shallow so its a bit hard to... More

If you're interested in going to some of the islands next to the KK, I would not suggest to pick the mamutik. It's very small, nothing much to see on the island and (with the people all over) neither under water. Go to the manukan - water won't be much better, but at least you have place to escape the...
