This was the second island we visited on a three island trip. It was the busiest island and packed with big tour groups so we went exploring. As we trekked along the shore there was at trail and speaking to a local guy he said it was about 45 minutes around island. So armed with a bottle of water and... More

Mamutik island is the closet one to KK with only 10 mins by jetty from Jesselton Point. The island is quite small and I have to say the water quality is quite ok on a sunny day but there are quite lots of rubbish floating in the water and on the beach. The public toilet there is a nightmare.

The island is only 15 minutes away with the speed boats departing from Jesselton. As all the island it's very dirty and poorly maintained (the public toilets are a disaster!) but the water is still nice and there are a few restaurants to choose from. Most important: do not go to the beach to the right of the small house... More

Boat ride not for the faint hearted. Fast and furious. Water fairly clear some good staghorn coral and a fair bit of damage. Food looked good. Lots of large lizards wandering around on the beach

Mamutik Island is only about 10-15 minutes away via boat. You can reserve a trip online or simply show up where there are several individuals who will take you there for a reasonable price (travel to two islands and back plus snorkel gear for four people for $60 US). There are no waves and a small reef right off the... More

The island is great. Can see a lot of fish, the beach is clean, has a minimarket for small snacks and drinks, and for a small fee can also have the buffet lunch. It was mostly empty but i can imagine, like any turist attraction, it gets more crowded during the weekend.

We booked a snorkel trip with flyborneo.com and became very, very dissapointed. When we booked our trip we asked if we should go snorkeling from a boat, and they said "Yes". But when we came there we became aware of that the snorkeling was from beach and within a small marked area crowded with people. The deap was perhaps 1,5... More
