We went there as no Muslims and were welcomed to visit the mosque. Mohamed gave us a short tour and talked about the main principles of Islam and other related areas. We could take some pictures and I was given a long dress-like costume to cover my body (as was in shorts and a top).

The food outside this masjid is simply divine. Was so tired, thirsty and famished from a hot dah of exploring Armenian St. to see all street art, until we decided to stop by this beautiful mosque outside for some food. The food is simply lovely, the curries, the sotong (squid), chicken, veggies.. A+. Even the Teh Ais is very delicious.... More

Assalamualaikum, Alhamdulillah I was there for magrib prayer. If u Muslim u must go for a pray with jamat. U definitely like it. I also saw many people visiting this masjid who r not Muslim. Good place to see . Must visit.

After wandering around the Armenian Street we passed by this beautiful mosque. Looked at it from outside and could not get further as we are not moslem and we were afraid might disturb praying people inside.

Provide free guided tour for non-muslims. Great opportunity to see a 200+ years old masjid. Located very close to Art Street (walking distance).

The guided tour is interesting as it appears to be an opening for the guides to proselytize. However, they are informative and respectful.

The gates opened at 11:30am. Our guide walked us around telling us how the prayer services are done. She read chapter one from the Qua'ran and showed the stances and meanings. There were parts of the interior blocked by columns where we missed seeing the women's section. It was very well guided.

In Georgetown there are many Mosques [as well as churches, Indian, Taoist & Buddhist Temples]. Please dress and behave in a "respectful manner" and, be aware of the 5 calls to prayer. Chulia street [where the temple is located] is an amazing street where one can find almost anything. A Georgetown Icon!

The people were very welcoming and many had greeted us when we were there. The imam had a beautiful recitation. It seems the locals attending this mosque get really happy when they see non-locals attending. The building is beautiful from both the inside and outside. Nice and peaceful. They had a male and a female pray section.

We had a guided tour through the mosque. We enjoyed it very much. Very informative and well maintained. Definitely recommend a visit here. A lot of pamphlets on the Islam traditions.
