it is located opposite the railway station and close to the old ipoh town. it was built in memory of the first british resident of perak. some of the history left by the british. it is well maintained and an iconic.
Took a walk though the old town to checkout all the lovely old buildings Ipoh has to offer. This gorgeous clocktower is close to the Town Hall and not far from the Railway station so a good morning's walk ticked all the boxes.
Birch Memorial Clock Tower was built in 1909 as a memorial to the first British Resident who was murdered in 1875. The tower has four statues around the top symbolizing "loyalty, patience, justice and fortitude" designed to represent the virtues of the British administration.
