Closed during MCO July 27 2080

It 's closed and don't expect it to be like the real deal Tibetan monastries you can visit in Lanchou, Gansu (labarang Si) or those in Ladakh which looks old and authentic.

These are lots of statues to see but this is more appeals to Buddhists following the Tibetan Buddhism vs the mainly Taoist cave temples p and it would cost them a lot to widen the roads for larger crowds not likely outside wesak day.

A tibet buddhist temple located at way to a hill. Peaceful, colourful & relaxing religion complex. There is a big buddha statue & tower. Must visit during your visit to Tambun

Exceeded all expectation

So glad we made the effort to get to this place... It was wonderful. The TripAdvisor location is wrong, as we found out when we took a taxi to where it suggested. Our Grab driver was able to find the correct site. We paid the driver to wait for us too, as it is a little remote for pick up. It was beautiful, surrounded by hills, all very tranquil. The climb up the tower is good too, with some good views. A lovely guy sells drinks and snacks in the main hallway, and much needed after all of the stairs.

Preparing for Wesak Day
May 2019 • Couples
I was lucky to see the Buddhists volunteers in Ipoh preparing to celebrate Buddha’s birth, enlightenment and death on Wesak Day this time during my visit.
I’m sure to return again.

This is a wonder in Ipoh that not many people know about as it is located in a valley off Tambun . The temple is a rare Tibetian in Malaysia and the construction amazes

There is another temple behind which has a Buddha statue on a hill slope , another construction wonder

Rare Tibetan temple worth visit (personal preference)
Jun 2018 • Family
Visited the temple in Jun 2018. The place was not difficult to find. Very quite at the time of my visit (school holidays). Only 2 other cars (visitors) beside mine parked there. It's a personal preference whether you should visit the place. Looking at the collection of photos posted by others here, should give you a fair idea. It definitely is rather unique in Malaysia. Do try climbing up the stairs until you reach the big Buddha statue.

Amazing Viewing from Pagoda at Enlighten Heart Tibetan Buddhist Temple with a Golden Statue of Lord Buddha.
Feb 2017
Enlighten Heart Tibetan Buddhist Temple is an old charm and is located in Tambun. Not very much of people in Ipoh knows about it. It is at a hidden location covered by wild plants on the approaching roads and surroundings. There are very few Tibetan Buddhist temples in Southeast Asia, this temple is a rare find and is one of the largest Tibetan-tradition Buddhist temples in the country.
It is located at the foot of Ipoh’s impressive stretch of limestone. The road sign is just before the turn to the road that leads to the temple.Travel about 1.2 km along the road directed from there. The road is narrow and covered with bushes on the sides where only one vehicle can travel at a time and therefore so be watchful.
Temple is very quiet, five of us were the only visitors only at that time other than the volunteers who maintain it. My Chinese origin Malaysian friends told me that this temple is vibrant on festive season like Wesak days but rather quiet with few visitors on other days with few people. Nevertheless the architecture and the design are great. It is serine, spiritual and clears our souls when visited. There are some really impressive statues.
By comparison with other more famous temples, it is quite new, and it is possible to feel the strong personal commitment volunteer There is one room with huge jars around.
Volunteers helped us with directions. It was very beautiful and peaceful.
The stairs led all the way to the top of this 13 storey Pagoda; where a golden statue of Lord Buddha with open hand is situated; overlooking at Ipoh town. The Pagoda houses an enormous Sakyamuni Buddha statue but it is dusty and looks like it hasn't been maintained in years. The climb to the top of the pagoda will reward you with great views. Every floor of this pagoda is decorated with statues, deities and paintings depicting the rich mythology of Buddhism and a breathtaking view of Kinta Valley can be seen from the top.
We came to the main altar by 9 am to observe the ritual. Monks chanted sutras and disciples blowing horns and other traditional Tibetan instruments included in the processions. The masked dancers made the Charm dance in attractive costumes in elegant fashion.
We got a different kind of an experience by visiting Enlighten Heart Tibetan Buddhist Temple in Ipoh but it is great.

Nice building
Mar 2017 • Family
Nice building and impressive view. One can hardly blame the lack of housekeeping due to the fact that this temple is huge.
