We drove to the Osaki Hachiman-gu Shrine in the northeastern section of the city of Sendai. Our rental car GPS took us correctly to the shrine’s parking lot behind the main shrine building. From there, it’s a five-minute walk to the main shrine building. Like...More

This is a nice walk from the bus stop to the shrine. Enjoyed a good walk up the long staircase to the shrine and enjoyed the nature of beauty.

The temple was built by Date Masamune. It's a little bit far from the other touristic places. If you have time you can go, but don't expect a lot, it's seems like any other temple.

Probably the most impressive thing about this shrine is the Tori you seen in the Trip Advisor picture. You can see this from the street. After that, you climb up a long set of stairs and down a rather long walkway to a rather average...More

One of the oldest and most recognizable shrine in Sendai, built in 1607. Its brilliantly colored carvings on a base of deep black lacquer. Take the Sendai Loople Bus and stop at #11 then climb up the stairs. It's really worth to visit this place!

The loople bus starts at the train station and for 600¥ it is an on/off bus. This stop is a nice view of the city and 20-30 minutes later you catch the next bus. Otherwise it is a long climb up hill to get here....More

This very impressive mausoleum at the top of a lot fo steps is worth the effort. The mausoleums are spectacular and the museum with its artefacts (and skulls) is worth a visit too.
