Best way to tour the Oirase River would be on foot to admire the popular middle section of the trail as there would be different scenes after each turn. If you don't want to walk back as it would be a long journey, you could...More

More than 4 hours hiking from Yakeyama to Nenokuchi was too much for me so I walked 2 hors and 40 minutes from Ishigedo to Nenokuchi toward Towada Lake. You might miss small waterfalls if you just concentrate on walking which I did. There are...More

the Oirase stream has many beautiful spots along its 14km flow. during the fall season, try to avoid the crowds by travelling on weekdays if possible.

Pleasant walk along the stream bank with convenient bus stops for when you get tired. Walked in spring with azaleas in flower and new leaves on the trees.

I walked along the Oirase River several years ago. I still remember fondly this experience. The leaves weren't at their most beautiful autumn colors, but the scenery nevertheless, especially of the waterfalls, was stunning. You can't get lost as most of the track lies between...More

Quite a ways away. You would have to take a bus tour, rent a car, or pay a lot for a taxi. By private car Oirase is like an hour and a half away, and then you drive the route and end up at Lake Towada. Then you have to... More
