This train is called Botchan Train, because Botchan used to take this train every day. Botchan was the main character in Natsume Soseki's novel with the same name.

Only saw the train at the station - very cute Worth a visit to the museum situated at the station - the building with Starbucks on it

And if you haven't read Botchan yet, you're missing out on your visit to Matsuyama and cannot fully appreciate the clock, either.

During Dogo Onsen trip, We took Bocchan train. It’s high price (800 JP Yen) for person. But it is good to feel Nostalgy. There is one performance at Dogo Station. They show manual train changing. It’s interesting!

Take this vintage locomotive to and from Dogo Onsen to various stops in the city. The interiors are made of wood and it is an interesting and unqiue way to get around.

Modern version of a old train Adds charm the area and very popular Yep does all that and is stationed at Dogen hot spring A plaque nearby gives all the history and information about the train

Downtown by the transit center is this old train with 2 cars. When we where waiting for our trolley they started it up and drove it around town on the same tracks as the trolleys. Now I don't know if the public can ride on...More

I honestly do not understand why it is on top of the attraction list. We saw it running on the street. May be an attraction for young kids only.

A one-way trip along most of the tram line from the city terminal to Dogo Onsen. Fun way to experience old style travel i.e. on an old rattler!! Train staff very happy to take your photo in front of the train. Good fun for kids...More
