For hardcore fans of history. Small... sma~~~~~ll museum and mausoleum site. Entrance inside mausoleum is prohibited of course. Ticket price is 300 yen only. Placed 5-7 min relax walking from the castle gates. Would I recommend it? Yeap. It's close to Shurijou castle and will...More

Tomb of the old kings of Okinawa. Quiet and peaceful. Have a small museum in site. Not very busy. Need to purchase ticket to go in. Very eerie feeling walking around as this is essentially a grave site for the Okinawa kings. Burial here was...More

Interesting place to visit if history is your thing. Not really a family or kids place. Remember to visit the downstairs display at the visitors centre.

If you are planning a visit to Shuri Castle, add this to your plans. It is about a two-minute walk from the castle. There is not much there, but worth the visit.

There is really nothing much to see here. We visited this place as it is within walking distance from the castle but we were pretty disappointed. We even paid a fee to visit the museum which is so small. Totally not worth it.

Very interesting to see the way that remains are handled in Japan, many royal burials over several centuries happened here. Photos of burial urns as they were placed within the structure and examples of urns are found within the museum at the gate house.

Of quite limited interest, since the tombs can only be seen from outside. There is a small museum also, but as there are very few explanations in English, it's not really that interesting.

This place is less popular to visit than Shurijo, but just as culturally important. The remains of the kings from the Ryukyu Dynasty can be found here, even though it was largely damaged during the war. It is a beautiful place that any visitor to...More
