It would be wonderful to visit during the festival but even without this, it is worthy of a visit. A very significant place for local people and please be respectful

A shrine in the city with well kept gardens and artefacts that’s worth a visit. The 1000 year tree is a sight to behold. We were fortunate to see the fall colours.

Lovely shrine surrounded by ginkgo trees. Be sure to see the huge festival floats in the side area next to the shrine building. It's amazing how much detail goes into the characters on the floats!

Worth visit especially if you are in the neighbourhood. There is a huge and beautiful Kazari Yamakasa or large stationary festival floats by the side of the shrine.

The Kushida Shrine is centrally located and within walking distance of many establishments. It’s one of the more beautiful shrines we saw in the Fukuoka area.

At hakata there’s coin lockers for luggage, you can leave them there, I suggest depending on the hour to get a taxi

You can walk. It takes less than 30 minutes. But use some boots that are made for walkin', not the geta (Japanese wooden clogs)!
