The only place in Japan where yatai remain in operation. And perhaps you know why. Even in evenings of late summer the heat is unbearably hot. You really need cold beers and some fans to keep from overheating. The food is good and freshly grilled...More

The food at the Yatai stalls are delicious but it is pretty uncomfortable eating at the stalls during summertime as it’s really warm sitting under the stalls. The food prices are a little on the steep side. However, as a tourist it will be a...More

Somehow this is a must do eating at Yatai food market but it is also quite expensive. Despite the price we were happy we did this as it felt typical Japanese..

I visited the Yatai and did find the stalls slightly expensive. On the roads around Tenjin station, I stumbled upon some roadside Yatai selling traditional offal dishes. I stopped at a tempura stall where an old couple served really great food at a very reasonable...More

Visited Mami chan when they first open around 6pm. Quick and fast service with English menu and price. Love the radish oden.

Most stalls sell similar dishes, and are equally popular, so I’d say pick the one that you can find seats at. It was an enjoyable experience, watching the chefs dish out local cuisines from the tiny kitchen. I’d recommend ordering light bar food that goes...More

Nothing better than having a quick but hot bowl of ramen in the out door shop in the midst of winter. Keeps you warm. Nothing fancy. There is beer and sake and in some Yatai they have yakitori and oden as well. Nothing fancy but...More
