especially if you're coming in from the airport. the train ride is only 15-20 mins! if you opt to take a cab, it's only about 1500 yen.

Typical major Japanese train station i.e. well signposted, good connections between the various train modes and the city buses. Is integrated with a department store with food hall basement levels and restaurants and has a tourism office in the main concourse.

Massive rail and subway station with bus terminus nearby. Takes time to get to know one's way around but it is a very convenient transport hub with lots of reasonably priced restaurants, 24 hour convenience stores and shopping malls.

About 45 minutes by bullet train. Bullet train not expensive if you have a Rail Pass. Can get a 3 day pass for north Kyushu for only about US$80.
