Marina City

Nothing much to see . It is just like any seaside city around the world. For tourist traveling thousands of miles, it is not worth the trip.

The Marina city is just a little port whereby some sailing boats are parked there. The Theme Park is a failure! Old and torn European structures !!!!!!!!

One single stop for multiple purposes. The Marina City consists of a fish market, a theme park, hot spring, fruit market and a hotel. I only visited the fish market, which is clean with good air conditioning.

Made a big trek to go to the market here and it was just OK. What was fun was going through the market and watching the tuna cutting show, picking up all the fresh fish you wanted then going to the patio to BBQ your food by the water. Then going for an onsen bath after across the street. Other... More

This is the place where everyone can have fun, Onsen , food, food & more food. Yes, one can literally spend the whole day here. Bring their family and have a day or even stay a night there. But the hotel, always fully booked. There are buses from Wakayama JR. Station going there. Renting a car to drive there would... More

It was a nice surprise when we discovered that we could bring our dogs into the theme park and we could even bring our dogs in the Ferris Wheel in the park. Nice place to relax and walk around.

We visited WMC in winter. The wether was not so warm so there were not many visitors. It takes 70 min to reach Wakayama JR station from Osaka. Then you need to take bus #42 to final stop (40 min, 510 yen). Do not forget visiting fish market (Kuroshio) in WMC as well as Porto Europa.

The buffet (viking restaurant) on the second floor had plenty of sushi and sashimi as well as pasta, sweets, fried fish and other things. The Tuna carving show was not as interesting as I had hoped. No real special skill or performance, just cutting a big fish with a knife.
