Really enjoyed the park & the Deer but have to say wish could've been done without the feeding as changing their behavior is rarely good for the animals. Nevertheless, it is a pretty park, especially in April with the Cherry Blossoms blooming. You can buy crackers to feed the Deer for 150yen. I did not feed them but still had... More

This was so much fun hanging out with and feeding the deer! Do it in the morning since the deer get full and uninterested in biscuits by the afternoon. Biscuits can be purchased from vendors in the park for JPY 150. One pack is enough and it's worth getting the biscuits! The deer are friendly and not aggressive but they... More

We came here and were excited to see and feed the deer. They are everywhere and you can buy deer crackers for 150Y to feed them. The lady selling the crackers is making a fortune as everyone bought them. The deer are smart and somewhat aggressive in that they can see the crackers from a mile away and they want... More

We went to Nara on a day trip from Kyoto, and it is a worthwhile adventure. I am not a fan of overly tame wild animals, however, and these deer fit that categorization. We went in April and many of them had a mangy appearance that was not appealing. They were also pushy about getting food, stealing sandwiches not intended... More

I've been here a couple of times, and each time it's amazing! The park itself contains plenty of temples and shrines, as well as nice walks, grassy fields, tree lined wooded areas, ponds, lakes and small streams. It has everything. And of course there are plenty of sakura and plum trees, so in peak seasons when they bloom the whole... More

We did a day trip to Nara Park from Osaka city and took the train there. It was easy to get to by taking the Nara line from Osaka station and took us about 40 mins to get there. We bought some deer biscuits and fed the deers who kept bowing to us for more biscuits! some of the deers... More

So worth the trip from Osaka for the day. Amazing park. Kids had a ball feeding and seeing all the deer. Beautiful scenery and landscape.

The deer are very cute. You go buy some deer crackers for like 150 Y and the deer will bow for you for a cracker. Watch out though because they will bite your clothes if they want more. They can be a bit aggressive. But are very cute. This was one of my most fav things in Japan! There is... More
