I still cannot believe I paid ¥900 to visit this small, mediocre garden, which looks quite neglected. They are certainly not using this high entrance fee for the maintenance of the park. Quite frankly, it would not deserve a visit even if it were a...More

Isuien garden is one of the most beautiful example of Japanese gardening art. Entrance fee a little bit higher than usual temple or museum entrance fees, however it is a place which offers to enjoy tea time in a real japanese garden :)

An absolutely beautiful garden, something I would like to see during all four season changes. Lovely piece of history and nurture of the centuries. A must visit spot during your time in Nara. This was my highlight this trip.

We went during Summer and it was so green and beautiful! Free guides are available. It's hard to find. You'll have to walk between a long walkways with a yellow wall and brown wall.

If you're visiting Nara Park you will almost certainly wander through or past Isui-en Garden. It is attractive but would not be worth a special trip itself.

My wife and I found this garden to be between ok and nice, certainly not worth the 1200 yen each for entry. Save your money and your legs getting there.

This is a beautiful garden (s) for a peaceful stroll with the mountain in the background. If you are a gardener yourself you will certainly take away many ideas with you. You will find a few welcome moments of peace if you just sit a...More

Hi Jolly, You will find it is OK with stroller, you may need to hold baby here and there, because the path is not smooth like drive way. Hope it is helpful. Cheers, Linda
