One feels cheated by what it costs and how little it offers, in addition to the entrance, everything costs inside. The quality of the representations is appalling.

A wonderful experience to discover the Edo period from the houses, businesses to lifestyle of courtisans, Samarai, Ninja and artisans, very similar concept to our Sovereign Hill in Ballarat, Australia.

To avoid rushing, you may want to consider to spend a night stay at Nikko as we stayed at Tokyo and hence 1 way train travel already taken up 2 hour (excluding shuttle bus to the Wonderland).
You get to "travel back" Edo' s period & opt to rent Edo's customes. There are variety of traditional games & experiences for you to explore. Do miss trying Karakuri Ninja Maze & Kai Kai Ninja House!
Last but not least, you will find yourself busy in taking photos! The scenery was amazing during Winter!

This place was a great stop for us with a 5-year old boy. He really enjoyed every activity there!! He got to dress up as a ninja and the park employees were so nice to interact with him throughout the day. We loved Ninja land and the Ninja show. I highly recommend it if you have an active kid who loves to run around and pretend-play!

If you are visiting Nikko area, add this to your itinerary. We did not plan to stay the whole day, but we ended being staying until closing time!

This place gives a great insight to the lifestyle of the Edo era. You can opt to rent traditional clothese ranging from ¥2000-¥10000 ($20-100). We decided to do this and had so much fun doing so!

There are plenty of things to see/eat and fun for the whole family. Take advantage of the shows as well as the lessons that are available. We come from the states but there are people there that speak great English to help you enjoy the experience.

Highly recommend to everyone! As a tip - check with your hotel to see if they give discounted tickets. Klook is also another option to get a discount as well.

This is a really interesting museum which allows you to experience how live would have been in the Edo period. This is really and outdoor activity and it rained the whole day we were here but we still enjoyed the experience. There are lots of activities and shows however our timing always seemed to be off so we probably did not get as much value as we could have done. We will likely plan a trip back but will plan our trip around the show schedule.

Is a little bit on the pricey side but still a good day out from Tokyo

We came late in the day with around 2 1/2 hours remaining before the park closed, but it was well worth the visit! The Edo period town looked beautiful. It was also fun, peaceful, amusing, and curious in many ways. I loved the ninja show, which is great if you have kids. The Oiran parade near the end of the day was a crowd-gatherer and was beautiful as well. This place really takes one back to an earlier period of time and to that way of life, especially when there are many people dressed in period costumes. I really wish I had more time there, perhaps 4-6 hours. If was also very relaxing if you wanted it to be.
