Beautiful Alpine Lake

It is located just minutes from Lake Churenji in Okunikko (Upper Nikko). It is a beautiful drive and can be hiked in an all-day hike. Be sure and visit Yutaki Falls nearby.

I usually give 5/5 if it has touched my heart and this place has truly touched it. Best thing about this place is - It is less touristy as compared to chuzenji and many people dont know much about this place and so it is an untouched beauty. Very quite lake, mountains all around - greenery and nice road side... More

Take thr bus to Yumoto Onsen and walk along the lake all the way to Yudaki falls. It is recommended especially during autumn fall.

This lake is the end of walking trail and terminal of local bus from Nikko Station. Comparing with Chuzenji-ko lake, this lake is small but I recommend to see because the place is so quiet. The place is the source of hot spring. There are hotels along the lake. You can walk round the lake. If you get tired, you... More

This lake is much smaller than the Chuzenji Lake but it is quieter and hence more appealing. The hike around the lake passes through forests and is very interesting.

Some neat photo opportunities, well worth while. Autumn and Sunset combined gave the camera a good work out.

The Yunoko Lake is meant "lake of hot water", for it collects sources of hot springs from the area and is also the water source of the Yutaki. When lake water tumbles over sheer edge of cliffs it created a dynamic force and became waterfall rushing downward. There were fewer visitors as comparison to other attractions I had visited on... We were lucky enough for having visited this lake at a time when the surrounding flora was presumably at its peak autumn colors. The lake's autumn view was picturesque and was appealing at almost any angle. The view of the placid waters was relaxing and was a bit more intimate in aura compared to the larger Lake Chuzenji. A business... More

We immediately noticed a sulphur-like smell when approaching this lake from the waterfall, at September 4th. Not everywhere, but at certain places. There must be volcanic activity here, may be this explains the higher temperatures in winter time. We took the short walk around the lake to the onsen village (15-20 min) , the other side of the lake seems... More

It is very scenery place with normal temperature of ~21 degree in summer. You should plan this place to watch beautiful reflections of mountain in this small lake.
