There really is not much on the island. Trails cover the island with some WWII ruins. A small beach on one side. Lots of sea glass to pick up!

Could have spent all day there. We only went for an hour, which was enough time to see the island and eat with my kids. My kids mostly just wanted to play in the sand. Good food and drinks and free use of walking sticks,...More

I wasn't sure what to expect but we had a blast exploring the Island. As retired military, especially the artillery community, I enjoyed seeing where the historic gun mounts and magazines were located. This is a great experience for history buffs or for anyone who...More

The ferry pier is at Mikasa Park, a 15-minute walk from Keikyu Line's Yokosuka-Chūō Station. Make sure you buy tickets first at a little white trailer behind the souvenir shop. Starting April 1st this year, you must also pay 200 yen on top of the...More

A short ferry ride to a lovely little island. There were several areas to explore and it was nice to get away from the city. The beach was too crowded to be fun, but the walk and the woods were worth it. The ferry ride...More

It took us about an hour to walk through the heavily wooded remains of a fortress on Monkey island. It was a pleasant but hot and sweaty walk- the woods provided surprisingly little relief from the August heat. But then again, in Japan in August...More

A nice, tranquil place to get away from the city without having to go too far, or spend too much. There are many hiking trails, and you can spend time with family or friends, enjoying the water, or the woods.
