Great place to visit during Hakone visit. The items on show are funky and the free foot spa is mega cool.

Amazing place , trip to Hakone is incomplete without a visit to this museum. Enjoyed every bit of it in the rainy weather. Loved the Picasso museum and open air sculptures. My favourite was Symphony Sculpture Tower.

There were lots to see at the Open Air Musuem. Mostly statues outdoors and several exhibitions indoors including the Picasso's! It's a great way to be immersed in both Art and Nature. There are several activities catered for kids, they looked so fun even to...More

Outside of the many hotsprings in the local area, there are a few places to visit. This museum is worth the time and effort to get there and enjoy.

Allow yourself 2 hours to stroll the open air sculptures. Grounds are in immaculate condition. The permanent indoor Picasso exhibit alone is worth the entrance fee of 1600 yen. Some excellent places to eat just outside the entrance.

We found it very interesting to walk outside between the great mountains of Hakone with the lovely fresh air with a wonderful view and enjoy international art in the same time!

We did not eat at the museum cafe, and there are no other dining options within walking distance of the museum that I am aware of. I suggest that you either take the train to Gora (as suggested in the previous post) or that... More
