The Hakone Pirate Ships are a main tourist attraction in Hakone. Indeed there is nothing like taking a scenic cruise around Lake Ashi after a full day of sightseeing! There are three Hakone Pirate Ships - the Royal II (a replica of the 18th century French warship, the Royal Louis); the Victory (modelled after the 18th century British warship, the... More

Crossing the lake Ashi by the Pirate ship is a nice experience, I wish the weather had some mercy on us. The clouds made sure that we did not get scenic views of the lake. But its a must do experience in Hakone. Its covered by the Hakone Pass.

A bit cheesy but comfortable cruise on a Pirate ship across lake Ashi from Togendai to Hakonemachi ko, which takes 30 minutes one way. Great view of the environs.

A lovely boat with drinks available to buy. Seating inside or standing outside. Great views of Mount Fuji half way on lake. Have to take a bus at other end but there are plenty. You can also return by same boat. First class available but you don't gain anything for that really.

A fun ride on the Pirate ship. The kids loved it, the views were absolutely gorgeous, and the ride was smooth and comfortable. Free using Hakone Free Pass.

When we go for the ride it was super sunny, so we could see clearly the beautiful view of the lake and mountain. Highly recommended if you have time!
