This place is pretty nice and relaxing. If you are first timer and feel embarrassed of totally naked, go on weekdays at around 630pm. It is not crowded and pretty dim in evening. Plus you get a small towel to cover your front which many foreigners do. You need to buy a ticket at the entrance using vending machine. Hakone... More

Great Japanse onsen. Situated beautifully in nature. Very feng sue build. Tattoo friendly and overall very friendly. Not an tourist trap. You relax with the Japanese people. If you don't have towells yourzelf, you can buy them there ranging from 200 yen to 800 yen. Friendly staff. Free lockers for your shoes and clothes. If it's your first time, don... More

Unquestionably, my evening here proved to be one of the highlights of my holiday in Japan, and certainly the highlight of my day in Hakone. I've only have two other onsen experiences but this was on another level in terms of scale, and lavish attention to detail. Suddenly, a magical escape from the throng of tourism/selfies! A few things to... More

Onsen Tenzan is a perfect place to experience a Japanese onsen. It is easily reachable with public transport and the staff is very friendly. Facilities are clean and well maintained. The price is 1300 yen, which is good value for money. Lockers are provided, as well as snacks and drinks. I have a small tattoo which I covered with a... More

The Onsen was quite a walk from the Odakyu Hakone Yumoto station but on the way back we found out that there is also a bus stop close by. But I would recommend the little hike along the river and waterfalls, it was very scenic. I would also recommend this onsen for all of you traveling with the Hakone Free... More

I can't say have I have been ever more relaxed than taking in the waters of Tenzan. After a long day of touring Hakone on the Free Pass, I was bit tired and ready to retire at our hotel in Tokyo, an hour and half away. However, my wife and kids suggested we take an onsen/Japanese bath at one highest... More

This is the last onsen we visited during our short stay in Hakone, and one of the best. The surrounding cherry blossom was in its prime when we arrived, making the place picturesque. While the male bath is on par with other very nice onsen we already experienced in previous days, my wife was particularly impressed with the special milky... More

This was an amazing onsen. The view and the nature is unbelievably beautiful, it's like you are in the middle of Utopia. The onsen itself is superb, very very clean and stylish, very big and comfortable. The prices are very low, we payed 1200 yen for one person! You have lots of baths under the open sky with different temperatures.... More

I'm a little biased because I'm used to Korean style spas and springs where there are a lot of things to do to keep you entertained. This is a very natural experience. Natural hot spring water in pools and not much else. So it's great for just relaxing and unwinding. Still, I wished there was a little more. It did... More

Tried to book for a friend who cannot speak Japanese and the booking was not accepted. 友達に旅館を予約してみたら、拒否されてしまった。日本語を喋らない人が泊まられないと言われた。
