The trees around the lake change to yellow red and some are green ,so beautiful! And so peaceful because no shops around only few hotels.

Yes. It has great scenery. It is no doubt. But if have (or rent) no car, thrn think twice. There is only one bus in a hour(or two hours) from/to chitose airport. You might need to spend a day for this because of poor public...More

If you are riding or driving, this gorgeous lake is worth the drive. Suggest bring picnic lunch, the views are spectacular and the drive is easy. Spring, summer, good, fall the best. Winter depends on weather. You will not be disappointed.

We spent a nice night at a small guesthouse type hotel. There are beautiful walks and harder mountain trails all around the lake. We were surprised and really enjoyed our 2 days. You can rent paddle boats, waterbikes and kayaks.

Shikotsu is currently the cleanest lake in Hokkaido. Rainbow trout are raised here and currently eggs are being taken down to re-populate Fukushima. (You can fish in Hokkaido without a license). There are some great little cafes, spas, little eateries, and in winter the ice...More

You will see a place of absolute white. Everywhere is blanketed in fog and snow. The place will be best if the Putonghua-speaking people can lower their voice.

The roads are fine. Only the area south of Chitose near to the epicenter was affected.

Please search Shikotsuko Onsen Ryokan Association Official website and select language, click "access" I can't send address dut to regulation of Tripadvicer.

There is public bus going there. Check online or go to tourist center to get information.
