It is not as huge as expected but when weather is nice, still worth for a visit to walk around and take a close looks of the Japan Sea. The day that I visited has scattered rain and cloudy but still very hot. So if...More

A must-go sightseeing spot in Tottori. You could take the city bus at Tottori station to go there. It is so stunning and you could spend a whole morning there. You could not imagine how it could be formed there inside a city.

It is a walking distance when you go from the bottom to the top of the sand dune, and the view is magnificent, worthy to spend three hours there including lunch. The Japanese sashimi lunch at the tourism centre base hut there was reasonably priced...More

I always wanted to go Tottori dessert dune. Finally, made it and we've got lost because it was huge!!!

Tottori sand dune shows paradoxical blend of 3S namely sea, sand and snow. A nice place to witness the nature craftsmanship. A string of cable cars offers a nice panoramic view of the sandy scene in a bit adventurous way. A sure place to visit...More

Beautiful Sanddune. Walk around and see the sights and play POKEMON Go! Because there are POKEMON stops every 100meters. In summer, probably early mornings are the best time for playing. There are Gyms to play too.

The prospect of a trudging up a high sand dune on a cold and blustery winter's day may not seem that attractive, but it is well worth it. The first view across the dunes is breath taking - as is the subsequent climb (in a...More

It's different when I saw Tottori in May and in December when it's cold and cloudy. I realized it was more beautiful when you go up the hill and appreciate the vast scenery of the sand dune. And at the other side you will find...More

Be prepared to walk in deep sand and enjoy a wonderful view of sand and sea. It is often windy so dress well and bring your camera.
