This is a garden built on the side of a hill with an excellent view of the sea. One is driven to the top and then left to walk down at one's own pace. Lovely tiers of gardens. Never ending beauty of flowers and background of mountains. Truly lovely. English map was available. Bus takes you to the top, then enjoy walk down the tiers of gardens. April for tulips, summer for the extensive rose selection, apparently they have two hundred species of rose. Serene Japanese gardens with huge bonsais, then English and Italian style gardens with the usual microscopic attention to detail for which the Japanese are renowned. This is a sort of "secret" garden located an hour outside of Tokyo about 15 minutes from Atami shinkansen station. They have an incredible amount of roses and other flowers there. They also have the biggest bonsai tree you'll ever see.... They drive you up to the top of the mountain in a little bus and then you walk down... More
