We did not have time to go inside but it was worth to go and just watch from outside its stunning and verry beautiful garden.

The castle is a stunning sight, both inside and out, and at all times during the day. If you visit early then you may be able to see people walking around dressed as samurai and have your photo taken with them. Shoes have to be...More

The castle looks great on the inside and outside. If you have difficulties walking, don’t go inside, the stairs are very steep and some of the steps are quite high. If you have the chance, go the castle in the evening, after sunset, because the...More

Although incredibly and unseasonably hot, the castle was a most impressive place to visit, in very tranquil surroundings. Worth it in every way, and with expansive views of the town as well.

The city provides a free English speaking guide for the castle which was great especially considering that many of the exhibits did not have translated information.

Ao much better than expected, the stroll through the castle keep, through the old wooden structures and old weapons (and other) they showcase, was very enjoyable. Also definitely check out the museum next to it, it's already included in the ticket! Some interesting stuff there,...More

We got our tickets at the gate. I was there in Mid November and the castle was not full. Since you need to take your shoes off before entering the castle, make sure you have warm socks. The wooden floor can be cold.

There are crowds anytime of day. We saw the dressed up folks in the morning at 9am. Not sure if they are there in the afternoon.
