On our way to Matsumoto Castle, we also passed by this small shopping street mainly with frogs souvenirs. There were several large frog statues at the entrance of the street and we took a few photos for memory and left this place.

Stone paved street with small shops and restaurants and river next to it, you will walk it in a few minutes but it deserves more time to browse and admire the timber building's plus not far from the castle

Sure, it’s another tourist trap, but it’s nice and quite interesting. Well worth visiting. The vendors are friendly and offer little schmonsers to remember the visit. In autumn the local temple gardens are amazing.

Frogs of all sorts are to be found in this area! This is because water close by have frogs! Somewhat pricey, shops abound with these and other souvenirs are for sale.

Right at the entry there is a status of frog, which we found really cool. The street is extremely street and it was relaxing to take a walk while seeing different shops on the street. It is the place that one can fully experience the...More

This is a nice street for fun shopping, having a coffee of a drink. There is a small shrine dedicated to the frog. The name is explained somewhere too: the word "frog" in Japanese sounds like "to visit" or "to come over" and was used...More
